Composting

Composting

Composting household food waste is an excellent way to increase the yeilds from your garden produce, thus reducing your reliance on over packaged groceries with a high carbon footprint, not to mention your weekly spend.

Kitchen waste produces methane - a greenhouse gas. Composting exposes these materials to oxygen, preventing the release of methane, and producing a useful, nutrient rich by-product, which can be added to your beds. Most councils now supply composting bins, or better still, invest in a wormery. A compost heap can built for next to nothing.
